FAQs
1. Is the AMK Supply cap vented?
No, and neither is the o.e.m. cap. We recommend you check your crankcase vent if you're having problems with the o.e.m. cap blowing off. See pictures of crankcase vent tube below.
2. What causes the o.e.m. caps to blow off?
There's many possibilities including, but not limited to:
a) plugged crankcase vent.
b) worn engine with blowby causing excessive crankcase pressure.
c) performance engine with lots of boost creating excessive crankcase pressure.
d) worn, aged, hardened rubber on the expansion plug.
e) poor design from the beginning (how many automotive oil caps are like this?)
